Files and Folders

Most files should be kept in your "My Documents."  There are two ways to find your My Documents folders.

  1. Click Start and then click My Documents.

  2. Find My Documents on the desktop and double click it.

After accessing My Documents there are ways to look at files that will make it easier.

There are 5 different ways to view our files.

Thumbnails - Lists the files in the largest and easiest view to see.  This will also let you see small previews of pictures.

Tiles - About the same as Thumbnails only smaller.

Icons - A little smaller than tiles.

List - Smaller, but not tiny.  Shows several files.

Details - Shows the Name, Size, Type, and Date Modified.

When we look at details we can order the files by Name, Size, Type, or Date Modified.

Click on the word Size and it will be organized by Size.

Click on the word Type and it will be organized by Type.

Click on the Word Date Modified and it will will be organized by oldest to newest.

Click on the Word Date Modified again it will be organized by newest to oldest.
