Creating a Customized Home Page

Would it be nice to have a home page on the Internet that is just yours?  This lesson will show you how to make a homepage of your own.

1. Start Internet Explorer.

2. In the Address Bar type www.google.com

3. On the top right of the screen there is a link for iGoogle.  Click it. 

4. The screen will allow you to start customizing your home page. 

5. Click on the boxes that you are interested in.

6. Click on the theme that appeals to you.

7. Click see your page. 

8. When your page first comes up there will be a YouTube window on the left side of the screen.  Click on the X to get ride of the window. 

9. Set the Weather Zip Code by typing it in. 

10. Click Ok.

What if we want to add things like pictures of cats or little games.

1. Click Add Stuff. 

2. Adding small windows are actually called Gadgets.

3. There are lots of different gadgets too look for.

4. Here is a Hangman Gadget. 

5. Click Add it now to add the Gadget.

6. Go back to your home page.  There is a link at the top left of the page. 

7. See if the Gadget showed up.
