How to use the Recycle Bin

Question:  What is the Recycle Bin?

Answer: The Recycle Bin looks like this.    When you delete a file it first goes to the Recycle Bin.  It isn't really deleted.

Question:  How do you delete something?

Answer:  Right click on the file you want to delete.  When you right click on it a little menu will pop up that looks like this.    Click Delete to delete it.

Question:  Where does a file go when you delete something?

Answer:  When you delete something it goes to the Recycle Bin.

When something is in the Recycle Bin there are two things you can do to the file.  You can restore the file or delete the file permanently.

Here is how to permanently delete.

1. Double click the Recycle Bin icon.

2. When you double click the Recycle Bin you will see everything you have deleted.

3. Click File.

4. Click Empty Recycle Bin. 

5. You will then be asked if you want to permanently delete the files. 

6. Click yes or no according to your wills and wants.  You are the king or queen with this decision.  Make your choice wisely.

Here is how to restore a file:

1. Double click the Recycle Bin icon.

2. Find the file that you want to restore.

3. Click the file once.

4. Look carefully at the column named Original Location.

5. Take note of what the original location was.

6. The original location is where the file will be put back.

7. Click File.

8. Click Restore.
