How to Check Your Hard Drive

1. Click Start.

2. Click Run. 

3. Type CMD. 

4. A black screen will show up. 

5. Now we will type chkdsk c:  Press Enter. 

6. chkdsk is short for check disk.  This is a process that has been around for a long time that people don't use very often.  The process takes about 5 minutes. 

7. You will receive a report when done.

8. Mine gives directions on how to fix. 

9. Here is what I typed to fix. 

10. Type yes to the question that pops up. 

11. The next time the computer restarts it will be fixed.
