Updating a Dell
These general directions would work for an HP or Gateway
When do you need to use this lesson?
When you notice your computer slowing down or a computer error tells you to check your drivers.
Go to www.Dell.com
Find the word support and click it.

Click Drivers and Downloads.

Under Hot Topics we saw a link for updating against the conflictor virus. Here is the link for the information.

Search for your computer by model. Somewhere on the front of your computer should be a model name and model number.
Input what kind of computer you have.

Input your product line.

Input your product model.

Out of all the drivers the most important and maybe only
important one is the video driver.

Click on the plus sign next to video.
We are presented with two different drivers and need to pick
the right one. 
Right Click on your desktop.
Click on Properties.

Click on settings.

Underneath the word display you need to see the word Intel. Look for the name of your video card. Mine is Intel
Here is what mine looks like.

Go to the right download at Dell.com and click download now.

Click Run on the next window.

It will take a couple of minutes to download.
Click run. ![]()
Click continue.

Click Ok. 
Click Yes.
Click Ok.
Click Next on the Intel welcome screen.
Click Yes on the next screen.
Click Next.
The driver took a minute or two to finish. Ready to
click next. 
Restart the computer.

Click next and the computer will restart.
