Must Have Free Programs

We are going to use the website  http://www.filehippo.com/  to find downloads.

Filehippos is a collection of useful programs that we can install.  Lets take a look.

Here is a list of the most popular files to install:

There are other categories that I would like to show you.

These are free.

Here is how to download one of them.  The process is similar for most downloads.

For this example I'm going to download and install Picasa.

1. Click Picasa 3.0 Build 57.53
2. The link you want to click is underneath the title.  It says Google.
3. Look for something that says Download. 
4. Click Download Picasa 3.
5. You will need to read directions that may or may not pop up.  Usually you will click Next, Next, Install, I accept, I agree, or Next.  All programs are a little different.  You may even need to click run.  Don' worry, you don't actually have to run.

1. Here is a specific download that I think you need.  It is a Power Point Viewer.  How would you know if you need it.  If you have a file that ends in .pps and you can't look at it.  For example the computer doesn't know how to run the program, then you would need to install the Power Point Viewer.
2. Click this link to download the Power Point Viewer.  http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=048dc840-14e1-467d-8dca-19d2a8fd7485&DisplayLang=en
3. This will let you install the free Power Point Viewer.
4. Click Download.
5. Click Run. 
6. When it finishes downloading you can open the program and run it.
