Creating a Grocery List with Subcategories

  1. Open Microsoft Word
  2. Click Alight Right.
  3. Click Insert.
  4. Click Date and Time.
  5. Choose the date and time style you want and then click ok. 
  6. Press enter two times to move your cursor down.
  7. Center your cursor.
  8. Type in Grocery List or any other list you may be working on.
  9. Press enter a couple of times.
  10. Align to the left. 
  11.  Click Numbering. 
  12. Type Fruits.  Press enter. 
  13. We want to change 2 to a box.
  14. Click Increase Indent.
  15. Now your number should be a letter box.
  16. Right click on the letter and click Bullets and Numbering. 
  17. Choose Bullets in the tabs at the top. 
  18. Click the boxes and then Ok. 
  19. Type in 5 fruits.  Leave your blinking cursor at the end of grapes.
  20. Press enter.  You will end with another box. 
  21. Click decrease indent to get the number 2. 

A couple of things.  Click Increase and Decrease indent to get the squares or the numbers.  When you are at the bottom of the list press enter for the next number or square.
