Checking Your Speed and Possible Problems

  1. On your computer keyboard press the three keys ctrl-alt-delete.

  2. Click Task Manager.

  3. Click Processes. 

  4. Click Performance. 

  5. Watch the chart for a minute or so.  Get a feel for where the green line hovers.

  6. Click up and down to check for programs that are using CPU power. 

  7. If you find one that is using CPU Power and spiking up and down your can right click it.

  8. Then click End Process. 

  9. If it ends go back and check the chart.  See if it is any better.  If it is better than you know that program is the problem.

  10. This gives you and idea to check the basics of the computer.
