Searching Out a Scam

    We are tempted to buy things from television, the Internet, and the newspaper.  This short lesson may give some advice on how to find out more about the things you buy.  For this lesson we wanted to know more about Magic Jack.  Magic Jack claims to give you phone service for only $20 per month.  One end gets plugged into your computer and you plug your phone into the other end.  Here is what the device looks like.

1. I start by going to the website www.google.com

2. I search for magic jack scam. 

3. I click on 3 or 4 different websites to check them out.

4. I then search magic jack reviews. 

5. When reading reviews about magic jack I'm careful about reading reviews that the Company Magic Jack created.  Sometimes Magic Jack will review themselves.  They will give themselves the best reviews without any negative reviews.

6. The last thing I search for is Magic Jack.  I will visit their website and make a good decision.
