Toolbars in Microsoft World

  1. The way to move toolbars is to look at the mouse.

  2. When the mouse looks like in I it is used for inserting text.

  3.   When the mouse looks like this it is for normal clicking.

  4.   When the mouse looks like this it is for moving.  I call this the four pointer mouse.

  5. To move a toolbar place the mouse on the left side of the toolbar and wait until it turns into the 4 pointers.

  6. Now to change which toolbars you use.  Right click anywhere on a toolbar.  This menu should show up.

  7. If you notice I always use Standard, Formatting, and the Drawing toolbars.  I sometimes use the Task Pan.

  8. To turn on a toolbar click on it when it doesn't have a checkmark.

  9. To turn off a toolbar click on it when it does have a checkmark.

  10. I like to setup my computer with the file menu on top, standard toolbar in the middle, and the formatting toolbar coming third.

  11. At the bottom of the screen I place the drawing toolbar.
