Searching for Hobbies on the Internet

  1. Click Start.
  2. Click Programs.
  3. Click Internet Explorer
  4. In the address bar type www.google.com
  5. In the search bar type in your hobby. 
  6. Click Google Search.
  7. Watch out for advertising it is everywhere on the Internet.  When you search with Google the top and the side are advertisements.
  8. Here is what you will see.  The top and right side are advertisements.  I highlighted them in red to show you what is advertising. 
  9. A list of websites to click on will be shown.  Google shows 10 websites at a time.  They give you a:

  11. The title is underlined.  That is what you need to click on.
  12. The description is in black.
  13. The website is in green.
  14. The word cached means the website that is in Google's memory.  Google remembers all the websites that it lists. 
  15. Click on similar pages to find pages that are similiar.
  16. When you click on a title you may or may not like it.  If you like it keep on exploring.
  17. If you don't like it you can go back to Google and click a different title.  Click on the back button at the top left.
