How to avoid viruses:
1. Never download an attachment unless you are expecting it. The person sending the attachment should let you know what it is. If you are not expecting send a reply e-mail asking what it is.
2. Get anti-virus protection. I suggest Avast anti-virus. It’s free. I also suggest McAfee. This one costs money. Go to www.avast.com to download.
3. Make sure you keep you virus protection up to date.
4. When the grand children come over watch for peer-to-peer file sharing.
5. Not everything that makes a computer run slow is a virus. Don’t blame all of your problems on a virus.
6. Update computer with Microsoft Windows Update
Spyware:
1. I suggest Microsoft Spyware Beta. It is free. Go to www.microsoft.com
2. Never click on a pop up window.
3. Make sure you type in your website accurately.
4. Never reset your home page if you asked to.
5. Never install anything unless you know it is okay. Like at Microsoft or your church website.
6. Update computer with Microsoft Windows Update
