How to Copy and Paste from the Internet

This lesson is being typed up around the time of Thanksgiving.  Since Thanksgiving is the time of giving thanks and eating we are going to learn how to copy and paste recipes.

  1. Start up Internet Explorer.  Click on:

  2. In the address bar type in www.kraft.com  Make sure you don't type in the search bar.

  3. At the top of the screen look for get recipes. 

  4. Click on Dinner at the top navigation bar.   You could search around for any dinner you would like though.

  5. When you find the dinner you like click on it.

  6. When you are looking at the dinner you would like to try click on "Printer Friendly." 

  7. Click Edit.

  8. Click Select All.    If you do this right everything should be blue.

  9. Click Edit again.

  10. Click Copy. 

  11. Click the minimize button on Internet Explorer. 

  12. Click Start.

  13. Click Programs. 

  14. Click Microsoft Word.

  15. In Microsoft Word Click Edit.

  16. Click Paste. 

  17. Lets say there is something you don't want.  Place your mouse on the last word or period that you don't want.

  18. Click once.

  19. Press the backspace on the keyboard to erase everything you don't want.

  20. Now you are ready to save.  Click File.

  21. Click Save. 

  22. Make sure you are saving in My Documents.  The box on the left should be blue. 

  23. Check the file name to be sure it is correct.  Click Save. 

Here is how to recall the file.

  1. You should be at the desktop.

  2. Double Click "My Documents." 

  3. Locate your file about Chicken Mango Spinach Salad. 

  4. Double click your file.
