How to Make a Watermark

  1. Find a good source for information.  That wouldn't be me:)

  2. Click Start.

  3. Click Programs.

  4. Click Microsoft Word.

  5. Give your hands a break you are just getting started.

  6. Click Insert.

  7. Click Picture.

  8. Click Clipart.

  9. Navigate to a picture that you would like to use as a watermark or background picture.

  10. Insert the Clip Art into your document.  Normally you do this by clicking the picture.  Hopefully that will work for you.

  11. We now need to lighten the picture.  We need the Picture toolbar for this.

  12. Right Click on the picture.

  13. Click Show Picture Toolbar.

  14. Now you can brighten the picture until it is how you like it.  Click the brighten button to do this.

  15. If you make it too bright click the button next to it so it will darken.

  16. We are now going to open up a second Microsoft Word.  Not the word second.  That means more than one.  Keeping the two Microsoft Words separate in your mind is important.

  17. Click Start.

  18. Click Programs.

  19. Click Microsoft Word.

  20. Go through the Calendar Wizard.  If you are not sure how to do that go through the Calendar Wizard Lesson.  That lesson is back on the lesson web page.

  21. It is important to note where your cursor is.  The cursor is the black blinking thingy.  Use your mouse and click and the top left corner of the page.

  22. The picture will appear wherever the cursor is.

  23. Go back to the picture you want as the background.

  24. Right click on the picture.

  25. Select Copy.

  26. Go to your calendar.

  27. Click Edit.

  28. Click Paste.

  29. This will place your picture where the cursor.  That will be at the top left.  We need to center the picture.

  30. Click Center.

  31. Now your picture probably needs to come down a little.  Place your cursor on the left side of the picture.

  32. Now you can press enter on the keyboard to bring the picture down.
