Building Your First Simple Animation

  1. Make sure the camera is selected.
  2. Press the N KEY.
  3. This pops up a menu. 
  4. You need to change the values to match the values in the next picture.  Click at the beginning of the number so you can input your own numbers. 
  5. Right click on the cube so it is selected.
  6. Go into edit mode.  (I didn't tell you how to go into edit mode.  By this time you should know how to go into edit mode.)
  7. Your cube should become selected.  Press the A KEY to deselect all vertices.
  8. Go into top view.  (I didn't tell you how to go into top view.  By this time you should know how to go into top view.)
  9. Change to Face Select mode with a limit selection button also selected. 
  10. Rotate your view a little by pressing the MMB and moving your mouse.  Right click on the face. 
  11. Rotate your view back to the other face by pressing the MMB and moving your mouse.  Hold the Shift KEY and select the other face. 
  12. Press the Delete KEY.  Click faces. 
  13. Here is what you should now have.
  14. Go back to vertex select mode with limit selection off. 
  15. Go back to top view.
  16. Repeat the A KEY (deselect all), B KEY (box select), and E KEY (extrude).  You are going to create a simple maze.  Hold the Ctrl KEY when you extrude.
  17. Continue around until you have something like this.  Please note that I did not connect the maze where it starts and finishes.
