Setting up the Stars

There are 2 parts to this lesson.  Part 1 is putting the stars in.  Part 2 is changing the background from to a dark blue or even grey.

  1. Open Blender.  If you already have it opened, don't open it again.

  2. Press the F5 key or click the shading button.

  3. Click the World Button.

  4. We are going to be working in these two screens.

  5. Click on the blue background color.

  6. A color selecting box will appear.  Click in the same area that I did.

  7. Move your mouse onto the Blender Grid and the background color will change when you render.

  8. Click the word Stars.

  9. Look at the preview window.  You will see it has a dark background with stars in it.

  10. Look back at the Mist/Star window.  You can change how your stars appear.

  11. Change the settings to see what it does to your star field looks like.

  12. Here is a star field that I ended up with.

  13. Press the F12 KEY to see what you end up with.

  14. Try to make your star field realistic.

Good Job!  Now return to the Solar System Intro.
